Ex parte State of Alabama. (In re Rodney CRAWFORD v. STATE of Alabama).

1941459.

Supreme Court of Alabama.

Nov. 17, 1995.

Jeff Sessions, Atty. Gen., and Gail Ingram Hampton, Asst. Atty. Gen., for Petitioner.

Julian Stephens III, Anniston, for Respondent.

HOUSTON, Justice.

WRIT QUASHED AS IMPROVIDENTLY GRANTED.

HOOPER, C.J., and ALMON, SHORES, KENNEDY, and COOK, JJ., concur.

MADDOX and BUTTS, JJ., dissent.

MADDOX, Justice

(dissenting).

I dissent from the order quashing the writ, because I believe this case is substantially similar to Ex parte McReynolds, 662 So.2d 886 (Ala.1994), which involved an escape conviction. I dissented in McReynolds.
